What we see in Bahçelievler located on the European side of Istanbul

Can be reached via the highway E-5 , which runs from Istanbul airport to the Asian side of the city.

Suburb cover 5 % of the land area in Istanbul and is home to more than 570,000 people , mostly from the middle class .

History:

When building the old city of Constantinople were  the stone of Bahçelievler .

Even before the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople was considered the area of agricultural land occupied by the Greeks .

And after the founding of the Turkish Republic in 1920 , Bahçelievler  

appeared the settlements that were built along with the road that stretches from the center of Istanbul to Europe and then built factories to the side of the road , followed by residential buildings and apartments.

As a result, the population grew from 8,500 in 1960 to 100,000 in 1975 , and even packed day , including nearly half a million people in 16.7 square kilometers .

Actually been initiated to establish residential buildings since 1970, according to a specific plan to escort each house ( Turkish : Ev ) garden ( in Turkish : Bahçe) until they became full of houses with gardens and therefore so named (Bahçelievler)!
